The event highlighted the rocketing activity in “clean tech”.
Gore gave a rueful laugh to a written question from one audience member regarding the Bush administration's dismissive attitude toward recommendations of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. “You know the answer to that one,” Gore said. “It isn't that the oil lobby has too much influence in the White House. It's that the oil lobby is the White House.” Laughter rippled through the audience….
The good news, he suggested, is that Silicon Valley is tackling the crisis. The region, as Gore noted, has recently Gore's valley vision embraced “clean tech” with glee….
