衝撃の動画が
海外で流行っているんです。
それは『日本の刑務所』の
ごはん紹介。
その動画で紹介されていたメニューは、
カリカリに揚がったフライドチキン、
それにピラフ、
野菜サラダにケーキ。
厨房での調理から受刑者たちが
食べるところまで映し出された動画で
海外では
「そのへんのレストランよりも
うまそうだ」という声が
多数上がっているんです。
うん。たしかにうまそう。
私達日本人は、
こういう食事が刑務所で
毎日出されているわけではないことは
なんとなく想像がつきます。
まあ、給食みたいなものだと思うしね。
動画になってたやつは
クリスマスの特別メニューなんだそうです。
だけど海外では、
「こういうのが
毎日出されているんだ、、」
とショックを受ける人が多いんだって。

刑務所のごはんがうまそう?!
Recently, a certain video has been trending overseas. It shows the meals served in Japanese prisons. The video captures the entire process, from the preparation of the food to the inmates eating it. It has become a hot topic because people abroad think the food looks better than what you’d find at many restaurants.
近頃、ある動画が海外で流行っています。
それは、日本の刑務所のご飯を映し出した動画。
作っている工程から受刑者が食べるまでを
映し出した動画なのですが、
海外ではそこら辺のレストランよりも美味そうと
話題になっているんです。
The video actually shows a special Christmas menu. Just like how schools have special menus for Christmas, prisons do the same. If you only saw that video, you might think the meals are like that every day.
動画に映し出されいたのは、
実は、クリスマスの特別メニュー。
確かに例えば学校の給食でも、
クリスマスには特別メニューがありましたよね!
確かにあの動画だけを見たら、
毎日がこれかと思ってしまいそう。
Moreover, the prison where this video was filmed is different from traditional prisons. It is run through public-private cooperation and aims to help inmates reintegrate into society. Interestingly, the inmates themselves are the ones working in the kitchen, preparing meals for 600 people each day.
しかもこの動画が撮影された刑務所は
従来の刑務所とは異なり、
官民協働での運営、社会復帰を
目的とした刑務所。
毎食600人分を作る
炊事工場で働いているのもまた、
受刑者なのだそうです。
“Cooperation”は「協力」や「協同」という意味です。何かを達成するために人々や団体が一緒に働くことを指します。
