私は、バーテンダーに冷房装置のことでしきりと文句を言っていました －－－－ 冷房装置はあまりに高いところに位置していて、私たちは一人残らず風邪を惹きそうだったのでした。

But this bar had no brass rail, which seemed funny, and I was flat on my back, which seemed funnier still, unless they had installed bedside service for people with no feet.
しかし、このバーは真鍮のレールなどが無いおかしな場所でした。 そこで、私は仰向けに寝かされているのでした。 変なバーだ。 ここでは脚無し人間に付き添いサービスをするバーなのかな。
