Real Madrid Castilla beats Barcelona B

Real Madrid's 'La Fabrica' academy team won its first head to head of the season with Barcelona's 'La Masia' academy team. Real Madrid Castilla struggled to keep possession, but with some glimpses of good football, a good dose of strength and a pinch of controversy, managed to beat Barça B in the 'miniclasico'.

Copying the first team, Castilla's players conceded possession to Barça B. Their first two shots ended in goals. Firstly Juanfran and then Denis put some distance between the teams, although before the break Mejías made a mess of things and scored an own goal that allowed Barça B back into the game.

Some strange things happened after the break. Firstly, the referee insisted on allowing Barcelona's Oscar Plano's goal to stand, despite it being clearly offside and flagged by the linesman. Then, Barça B's coach, Eusebio, took off Deulofeu depriving his team of the best player it had on the pitch.

Following Castilla's third goal, Sergi Roberto dragged his team back into the game with a goal from the penalty spot. This was however, just a consolation. Castilla held on to its lead and won the first 'miniclasico' of the season. It's been a long time since Real Madrid's academy team has been above Barça’s youngsters in the table.

More than 7 million people watched last night's Clásico

More than 7 million viewers (7,202,000) watched the first leg of the Supercopa between Barcelona and Real Madrid last night. The encounter was broadcast on Spain's channel one, TVE, and the figures equate a 48.2% share of the total TV audience, according to the public entity.

The numbers make yesterday's match the most-watched Supercopa game in history. The first-leg of last season's competition, contested by the same teams, registered 776,000 less viewers (a total of 6,426,000). According to TVE, it was also the most popular slot of this August, with more viewers than the Olympic Games.

The most-watched moment came at 11.16pm last night, when 8,074,000 Spaniards were tuned in - that's 52.2% of the total audience. The build-up to the match was followed by 1,956,000 people and the post-match by 2,004,000.

Abidal back in the gym again

Barcelona's Eric Abidal is continuing to make a quick progress in his recovery. He recently declared that his intention was to be back before December. Today he communicated through his Facebook the good news that he has started to exercise in the gym: "Hello friends. I hope you are well, I write to you to give you some news: I've started to train again in the gym, although just a little, and I'd like to thank you for the reception at the Camp Nou for the team's official presentation. Thanks for the support!"

Abidal is recovering after having surgery last season for a tumour on his liver. Although at the beginning it was suspected that the Frenchman would never return to the playing field due to the seriousness of his state, the player has always maintained his desire to come back: "I have the goal of playing again; I hope to play at the Camp Nou before December. If it's later, that doesn't matter. The operation was very difficult and for me the target is to return, but I'm following the steps recommended by the doctor."

Monday 28th May. Atlético de Madrid officially announced the signing of Cristian Cebolla Rodríguez. Tuesday 29th May. Atlético officially announced the signing of Emre Belozoglu. Friday 15th June. Getafe officially announced the agreement with Atlético to transfer Daniel Cata Díaz. Friday 24th August, with one week to go before the transfer window closes, Atlético still hasn't signed any new players.

70 days without a single reinforcement, apart from those players who have returned from being on loan to other clubs.

Let's not kid ourselves here. It was clear from the very beginning that the delicate financial situation Atlético de Madrid finds itself in would seriously impede its ability to bring in new players.

The Club's intention was to raise €30 million from transfer deals to help keep the tax man at bay. So far it has been able to raise almost €20 million by offloading Domínguez and Salvio, but this is not enough.

Atlético currently has a pool of 20 players to draw on for the first team. The problem it faces is how to go about signing new players without breaking the bank. Unfortunately, there are no serious offers on the horizon and if no money is coming in then no new signings are possible. Someone has to go to make way for another, so it seems Atlético de Madrid's hands are tied.

Villa fined between €2,000 and €3,000

The Football Association is planning to fine the Barça forward David Villa between €2000 and €3000 for celebrating his goal against the Real Sociedad by lifting his shirt up to show a message underneath that read: "Impossible without you."

Such is the new regulation governing goal celebrations and that the referee made use of, leaving the whys and wherefores of his decision quite clear in his book. Villa, who has recently returned to active football following an injury, wore the t-shirt with the intention of dedicating a goal to his wife and kids.

Ｆリーグ テバオーシャンアリーナカップ2012プレビュー：名古屋の三連覇か、大阪の王座奪還か？それとも新たなチームの台頭なるか？

8月23日(木)から26日(日)までの4日間、名古屋・テバオーシャンアリーナで開催されるＦリーグ テバオーシャンアリーナカップ2012　大会プレビューをお伝えします。

　Ｆリーグのカップ戦として今年で4度目の開催となる「Ｆリーグ テバオーシャンアリーナカップ2012」(＊)。やはり、大会の優勝候補として一番にあげられるのは、ホームアリーナで戦うことのできる名古屋オーシャンズだろう。今年は2010シーズンのＦリーグ最優秀選手であるリカルジーニョが7月からチームに復帰。衝撃的な日本デビューを飾った2010年大会のプレーは、今でも多くのフットサルファンの目に焼き付いているに違いない。今季のリーグ戦では早くも8ゴールをあげる活躍を見せて、その実力を遺憾なく発揮している。また、昨シーズンの最優秀選手である森岡 薫も12得点と好調で、第一クールを無敗の首位で終えている。

　名古屋の対抗候補としてはシュライカー大阪になるだろう。第一クールは名古屋に次ぐ2位で終えており、過去全ての大会で決勝に進出している。中でもヴィニシウスは、リーグ戦でここまで13ゴールと大阪の攻撃陣を牽引しており、ウイダー・パワー・リーダー(得点王)の座についている。言わずと知れた守護神イゴールを軸にした堅守も顕在で、3年ぶりにカップウィナーへ返り咲きを狙う。

　バサジィ大分とアグレミーナ浜松は、それぞれ地域リーグから出場するチームの挑戦を受ける形だ。大分はここまでのリーグ戦で6位につけているが、その実力は上位陣に引けをとらない。仁部屋 和弘、小曽戸 允哉の二人のフットサル日本代表はもちろん、中村 友亮のスピード感溢れるプレーや、ディドゥダのパワフルなシュートやディフェンスも見逃せない。

　その大分と対戦するリンドバロッサ(京都府)は、デウソン神戸の原田 浩平や西谷 良介を輩出した関西リーグ所属の強豪。第12回FUTSAL地域チャンピオンズリーグ準優勝を果たし、今大会への出場権を得た。

　また、第12回FUTSAL地域チャンピオンズリーグで三連覇を成し遂げたフウガすみだ(東京都)は、アグレミーナ浜松と対戦する。昨年の大会で、地域リーグ所属ながらバルドラール浦安を破ったフウガすみだが、今大会でもＦリーグクラブから勝利をおさめることが出来るのか注目だ。対戦相手のアグレミーナ浜松は、第一クールでは最下位となっているが、外国籍選手として加入したオマー ニージャーリが徐々にチームにフィット。第二クールからの巻き返しを図るためにも、Ｆリーグのクラブとしての意地を見せるとともに、良い形で大会を終えたいところだ。

　2010年大会で3位、2011年大会では4位となったエスポラーダ北海道は、ペスカドーラ町田と対戦。若さ溢れる北海道がアグレッシブなプレーで圧倒するのか、それとも町田が老獪にいなして勝利を収めるのか。第一クールの対戦も激しい打ち合いの末に引き分けに終わっており、勝負の行方はわからない。その勝利チームと対戦するのがデウソン神戸。リーグ戦では毎シーズン上位争いを繰り広げるだけに、そろそろチームとしてのタイトルが欲しい。リーグ戦ではまさかの連敗スタートとなったが、第3節以降は負け知らずと現在は絶好調だ。

　浦安、府中、そして湘南の関東3チームも虎視眈々と大会制覇を狙っている。短期決戦となるトーナメント戦ではチームとしての勢いが強いチームが勝ち上がるだけに、長年日本のフットサル界を引っ張ってきた「勝ち方を知っている」ベテランがチームに所属しているのは心強い。まずは大会初戦に勝利して弾みをつけたいところだ。

　栄冠を手にするのは一体どのクラブになるのか。プライドを懸けた熱い戦いの幕が、いよいよ切って落とされる。

The Spanish League kicks off this weekend and one first division manager wanted to pay tribute to Manolo Preciado, who will always be in the mind of each and every fan.

Without a doubt, he's someone who'll be ever present in Spain's top flight despite his tragic and unexpected death two months ago following a heart attack just as he was getting ready to start his new job in charge of Villareal.

Mallorca's manager, Joaquín Caparrós wrote these emotional words on his blog: "Barely two months ago, one of the most genuine guys I've ever met, both inside and outside the world of football, Manolo Preciado, suddenly and unexpectedly died. It was news that cuts you to the bone and burns you deeply. He wasn't the first friend to die before his time, but he was one of the best. You were phenomenal in the dugout and yours statistics attest to this, but out of it you were one in a million. Like many other people, I haven't forgotten you. This season, in my mind, you'll be there at every league game. So any way I can pay tribute to you, I will. This is for you Manolo".
