”A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden, and there it divided and became four rivers. The name of the first is the Pishon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.“

O. Well it’s a new year and there is much to look forward too and to plan out. Yet, I feel an occasionally the calling to see in the word and also the world for the things less seen and esoteric in nature. Such as the versus above for being a Geography and History buff I am curious to the Biblical references to the places and in this case the 4 rivers of Eden. 2 of which have yet to be scientifically identified Pishon and Gihon. Thankfully the Euphrates and Tigris are still running and can be used as a modern day reference point.

A. How does it apply to life? I tied it to the verse where we know in part, for many things in the Bible can be verified and yet through the passing of time we also see know the immense history of life that has already taken place in our world. We should be amazed as to what has been passed to us and that the Bible and all its ancient manuscripts take still exist can present to us how God has been trying to speak to us the wonders of this world.

P. Dear Lord, thank you for the vast world you have created since the Garden of Eden. Even if we long to return and find the original garden we pray the knowledge you have passed along to us can assure us of the promise of heaven that even better than the Garden. May we live a life anew this year as we discover the word anew and bring others to know it and its vast wonders as well.
In Jesus name I pray Amen.
