It has been a long time since I wrote my last blog.
前回のブログからだいぶ時間が経ってしまいましたね。
Actually I was traveling to India via Taiwan.
実は、台湾を経由してインドへ向かっていました。
I spent several days in Tawan and made many friends in Taiwan.
台湾では数日滞在し、現地でたくさんお友達ができました。
I had a great time to talk with many local people, having delicious Taiwanese food together.
現地では、台湾のおいしいお料理を囲みながら、たくさんの地元の人たちとお話しする機会がありました。
I also traveled to a town called Jiufen which is called a model of the "Spirited Away", and its night view was mysterious and stunningly beautiful.
また、『千と千尋の神隠し』のモデルになったと言われている、九份という町へ旅行しましたが、その夜景は神秘的で息をのむほど美しかったです。
Immediately I fell in love with Taiwan and it became one of my favorite countries in the world.
あっという間に、台湾が大好きになり、世界で好きな国のひとつになりました。
I would strongly recommend you to visit Taiwan because it has amazing culture, nature and very kind and friendly people.
台湾は素晴らしい文化や自然があり、そしてとても優しくて友好的な人たちがいるので、皆さんも是非、台湾を訪れてみてくださいね。
On top of that, it is not far away from Japan and sometimes traveling to Taiwan is cheaper than traveling to other Japanese cities!
何より、日本からそんなに遠くないので、日本の他の町を訪れるより、台湾旅行の方が安いこともよくあります。
Everything was just perfect during my stay, however I suddenly got into a big trouble at the end of my traveling.
滞在中は、すべてがとても完璧だったのですが、旅の最後でとても大きなトラブルに巻き込まれてしまいました。
The whole airport in Taiwan got a blackout.
台湾の空港が、全面的に停電になってしまったのです。
A thunder bold hit the electric system of the airport and we had no electricity for about three hours.
雷が空港の電機システムを直撃し、3時間ほど全く電気が止まってしまったのです。
According to the local people, it never happened before.
現地の人によると、前代未聞の事件だったそうです。
However, I managed to negotiate with airline staffs and they provided me a stay in a hotel and alternate flights.
しかし、何とか航空会社の人と交渉することができ、航空会社がホテルと替えのフライトを提供してくれました。
At that time, I really felt I am very lucky to be able to speak English.
その時は、本当に英語が話せてよかったと実感してしまいました。
But this kind of emergency could happen to anyone.
しかし、このような緊急事態は誰にでも起こり得ます。
This time, I felt two very important things.
今回、とても大切だと感じたことが２つあります。
The first one is to know how to negotiate in case of emergency.
１つめは、緊急時にどのように交渉するかを知っているということ。
And the second is to get to the airport at least three hours before the departure of an international flight.
２つめは、国際便フライトの出発時間の少なくとも3時間前には空港についていることです。
Please remember about the basic two points whenever you are traveling abroad.
