落し物、忘れ物

新年早々、ショッピングセンターで友人からプレゼントにいただいた
リボンスカーフを落としてしまいました。

丁度、本屋さんのレジに並んでいる時に気付いたので
焦りながら会計を済ませてくまなく店内を歩き回り・・・。
そして、店員さんに事情を話して探していただきましたがみつかりませんでした。
立ち寄った全てのお店に同じ聞き込み調査をしましたが、やはり見つからないので
インフォメーションセンターに「落し物届」を出しました。
その際にいただいたお返事は、
「お客様の落し物が届けられた時のみのご連絡となってしまいます」
とのことでした。

ガックリ肩を落として帰宅したその晩、一人グーグルで
「落し物　みつけたい」
と検索をかけるほど、心が乱れていました。

モノに執着する方でもないハズですが、
やはり大切な友人からお祝いにいただいたプレゼントなだけに
どうしても見つかってほしかったのです。

それでも、大型ショッピングセンター内での落し物。
しかも、たまたまブランド品だった。
・・・もう、見つからないだろうなぁ、と諦めてしまいました。
気休めに、「みつかればいいなぁ」と人差し指で円を逆時計回りを空に描いたくらい。

忘れた頃、「お届け物がございます」と連絡がきました。
あの時の心ときめく感覚は、今も忘れられません。
届けてくださった親切な方に感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。

大切な物は、大切に扱わねば。
新年早々、そう思った出来事でした。

2012年の抱負。

Happy New Year!
I wish there will be another prosperous and wonderful year to come by.
Although there's been such a big tragedy last year,
I hope and pray there will be happiness brought to those in need.

皆さまに実り多く幸ある一年となりますようお祈り申し上げます。
また、震災の被害に遭われた方々に少しでも幸せが訪れるように祈っております。

Just as a new year begun, I lost something very precious at a shopping mall.
What I lost was a Christmas present from a special friend last year.
It is a simple tie-scarf and I had worn it as a hair ribbon at the end of the year.
I had replaced it to my handbag, but didn't tie it enough
simply because I didn't want it to be worn out so easily since it was made of silk.

To think of it now, this was the main mistake why I lost it.
If I had really thought it precious, I'd have had to knot it differently when my sixth sense alarmed me.
Yes, there was a moment when something inside me to tie it in a ribbon
instead of just it letting it tie loosely...

I noticed the scarf's absence when I was lining up at the cash register to buy a book.
Panic raced though my head and mind instantly. As soon as I finished paying,
I walked around where I had stopped by and asked all the stores' sales person if they had come to seen it.
Sadly, there wasn't any trace of it, hence I went to the information center and asked
if there has been any notice given about lost-and-found.
Well, just as I had predicted, there were none.
I left the shopping mall feeling exhausted and heartbroken.

If it was something I had bought on my own, I probably have come to conclusion
that it meant something.

Few days has past and I had a call from the information centre.
The lady who rung told me that my tie-scarf has been turned in.
This phone made me all excited and thanked her for noticing me.
I plan to pick my precious scarf during the weekend.

Now, this happening became a tip and a good lesson for my aim this year.

Firstly, "Be careful of belongings, especially things given from someone."

Secondly, "Do take attention of sixth sense."
I have this gut at times and things go unexpectedly when I don't pay attention.
This scarf lesson taught me that it's time I do pay attention when I have it.

Lastly, "Do care for others' belongings, too."
Looking back, I tend to find someone's belongings quite often.
It usually happens right in front of me, thus, I call out for that person.
There are times when I hesitate to call out,
but thinking how much that person may be desperate pulls me up
to tell him/her that something fell out from their bags or whatever.
