So today, there was apparently some kind of issue with the construction going on at the ramen place I work at, and out of nowhere, my evening shift got canceled. It’s such a weird feeling when plans suddenly disappear—you kind of just sit there wondering what to do with yourself.
Anyway, my morning shift ended around noon, so I headed home, took a shower, and figured I’d just lie down for a bit. Well, that “bit” turned into a full-blown nap until around 4pm… which of course made me worry that I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep later tonight. And—surprise, surprise—I couldn’t. So here I am, wide awake, writing this little diary entry at who-knows-what-time.
Lately the days have been getting so much longer. The sun's still out around 9pm, which is kind of magical in its own way. I ended up going for a walk in the evening just to clear my head a bit, and honestly, I remembered how much I love walking. Doesn’t really matter when you do it—there’s something about it that just makes you feel better.
Also, I really do love summer. The early sunrises, the late sunsets… it just puts me in a good mood. Oh, and I was supposed to meet up with a friend who just got back from Japan—they had brought me back some Japanese mechanical pencils (which I’m weirdly excited about), but because my shift got canceled, I didn’t get to see them and pick them up. Bit of a bummer, honestly.
One more thing I found out today, which I probably should’ve known earlier: apparently, since my program includes hospital placement, I need to apply for a co-op work permit alongside my study permit. The thing is, I was already halfway through the study permit application process, and I remember there being a question like “Do you need a co-op work permit?”—I had clicked “yes” without thinking much of it, but now I realize that simply clicking “yes” actually includes the co-op application too. So… turns out I kind of accidentally did the right thing. For once.
