子曰(ziyue)：”君 子 無 所 争(jan zi wu suo zheng)。必(bi) 也(ye) 射(she) 乎(hu)!
揖(yi) 譲(rang) 而(er) 升、 下(xia) 而(er) 飲(yin)、其(qui) 争(zheng) 也(ye) 君子(junzi)。”
子曰く、”君子は、争う所なし。必ずや射か!
競譲して升(のぼ)り、下りて飲む。其れ君子の争い也。“
揖譲:競射
The Master said, “Gentlemen have nothing to contend for. If an exception must be cited, it is perhaps in archery. They cup their hands and yield the way to each other before ascending and descending. Then they drink. Even in contention, they are gentlemanly ”
【Yoshiのつぶやき】
ここまで来て、なぜここでこのような句が出てきたか不思議に思った。論語は孔子が亡くなって集まった弟子たちが孔子を偲んで編集したものだ。この章は、礼について語っている。文字通り、子供向けに、礼を語ったのであろう。君子は最も高位の仁だ。争うことも無い。競射についてもそうだ。丁々発止と争っても終わったら酒を飲んで終わりとする。それで良いのだろう。
