長野滝は、古代太陽カレンダー
日本のストーンヘンジなのか――。
冬至には見えなかった太陽の光が、
冬至からおよそ30日後――
1月20日ごろ、午後3時前後。
わずか数分間だけ、
中央のスリットに差し込みます。
偶然なのか、それとも――。
長野滝では、夏至に向かって、
太陽は次第に高度を上げていきます。
これから、どのような光の動きを見せるのか。
引き続き、この場所の太陽観測を追っていきます。

「君が代」発祥と伝わる大本神社のある地であり、
西郷どんのロケ地としても知られています。

Is it an ancient solar calendar, Japan’s Stonehenge?
The sunlight that could not be seen at the winter solstice
appears about 30 days later—
around January 20, at approximately 3:00 PM.
For just a few minutes,
it shines through the central slit.
A coincidence—or something more?
At Nagano Waterfall,
as the summer solstice approaches,
the sun gradually rises higher in the sky.
What kind of light will appear next?
I will continue to document these solar observations.
Nagano Waterfall, located in Iriki-cho Uranomyo,
Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture—
this area is said to be connected to the origins of Japan’s national anthem “Kimigayo,”
and is also known as a filming location for the NHK historical drama
