Hello, everyone.

Today, I would like to introduce a flight helmet ordered by Mr. T.U., who lives in Aichi Prefecture, and manufactured by me!

Takeo Tanimizu Senior Flight Sergeant First Class

April 14, 1919 - March 12, 2008 was a soldier of the Imperial Japanese Navy and a fighter pilot of the Naval Air Force.

This time, I was asked to reproduce the flight helmet that Senior Flying Officer Tanimizu is wearing in the photo.

IJN Early Type Winter Flight Helmet

★Outer surface is dark brown goatskin leather

★The back has brownish nutria fur.

★Size: 60 cm

Let's zoom in to see the features.

A. "Hinomaru" to identify friend and foe.

B. The threads under the insignia cloth are visible.

C. "Fur" is attached to the chin band.

Takeo Tanimizu was famous for his distinctive aerial victory tally marks. He was one of the outstanding fighter aces of the Imperial Japanese Navy.

He was photographed in the elevator of the aircraft carrier JUNYO in June 1942.

He is wearing a Hinomaru hachimaki and a flight helmet over it.
He is carrying a Nambu 14-year pistol (late model).
(It has a larger trigger guard so that it can be used with thick gloves)

Tanimizu here is equipped with a rubber-molded oxygen mask (without filter) and a receiver.

Now, let's add the oxygen mask to the display and have a look at it.

That's all for today.

See you soon!ランニング
