Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me.
あなたがたは、心を騒がせないがよい。神を信じ、またわたしを信じなさい。
In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
わたしの父の家には、すまいがたくさんある。もしなかったならば、わたしはそう言っておいたであろう。あなたがたのために、場所を用意しに行くのだから。
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
そして、行って、場所の用意ができたならば、またきて、あなたがたをわたしのところに迎えよう。わたしのおる所にあなたがたもおらせるためである。
And whither I go, ye know the way. わたしがどこへ行くのか、その道はあなたがたにわかっている」。
Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; how know we the way? トマスはイエスに言った、「主よ、どこへおいでになるのか、わたしたちにはわかりません。どうしてその道がわかるでしょう」。
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me. イエスは彼に言われた、「わたしは道であり、真理であり、命である。だれでもわたしによらないでは、父のみもとに行くことはできない。
If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also: from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. もしあなたがたがわたしを知っていたならば、わたしの父をも知ったであろう。しかし、今は父を知っており、またすでに父を見たのである」。
Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. ピリポはイエスに言った、「主よ、わたしたちに父を示して下さい。そうして下されば、わたしたちは満足します」。
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and dost thou not know me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; how sayest thou, Show us the Father? イエスは彼に言われた、「ピリポよ、こんなに長くあなたがたと一緒にいるのに、わたしがわかっていないのか。わたしを見た者は、父を見たのである。どうして、わたしたちに父を示してほしいと、言うのか。
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I say unto you I speak not from myself: but the Father abiding in me doeth his works. わたしが父におり、父がわたしにおられることをあなたは信じないのか。わたしがあなたがたに話している言葉は、自分から話しているのではない。父がわたしのうちにおられて、みわざをなさっているのである。
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. わたしが父におり、父がわたしにおられることを信じなさい。もしそれが信じられないならば、わざそのものによって信じなさい。
Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father.
よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。わたしを信じる者は、またわたしのしているわざをするであろう。そればかりか、もっと大きいわざをするであろう。わたしが父のみもとに行くからである。
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. わたしの名によって願うことは、なんでもかなえてあげよう。父が子によって栄光をお受けになるためである。
If you shall ask anything in my name, that will I do. 何事でもわたしの名によって願うならば、わたしはそれをかなえてあげよう。
If ye love me, you will keep my commandments. もしあなたがたがわたしを愛するならば、わたしのいましめを守るべきである。
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever, わたしは父にお願いしよう。そうすれば、父は別に助け主を送って、いつまでもあなたがたと共におらせて下さるであろう。
even the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: you know him; for he abideth with you, and shall be in you. それは真理の御霊である。この世はそれを見ようともせず、知ろうともしないので、それを受けることができない。あなたがたはそれを知っている。なぜなら、それはあなたがたと共におり、またあなたがたのうちにいるからである。
I will not leave you desolate: I come unto you. わたしはあなたがたを捨てて孤児とはしない。あなたがたのところに帰って来る。
Yet a little while, and the world beholdeth me no more; but ye behold me: because I live, ye shall live also. もうしばらくしたら、世はもはやわたしを見なくなるだろう。しかし、あなたがたはわたしを見る。わたしが生きるので、あなたがたも生きるからである。
In that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. その日には、わたしはわたしの父におり、あなたがたはわたしにおり、また、わたしがあなたがたにおることが、わかるであろう。
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him. わたしのいましめを心にいだいてこれを守る者は、わたしを愛する者である。わたしを愛する者は、わたしの父に愛されるであろう。わたしもその人を愛し、その人にわたし自身をあらわすであろう」。
Judas (not Iscariot) saith unto him, Lord, what is come to pass that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? イスカリオテでない方のユダがイエスに言った、「主よ、あなたご自身をわたしたちにあらわそうとして、世にはあらわそうとされないのはなぜですか」。
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. イエスは彼に答えて言われた、「もしだれでもわたしを愛するならば、わたしの言葉を守るであろう。そして、わたしの父はその人を愛し、また、わたしたちはその人のところに行って、その人と一緒に住むであろう。
He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me. わたしを愛さない者はわたしの言葉を守らない。あなたがたが聞いている言葉は、わたしの言葉ではなく、わたしをつかわされた父の言葉である。
These things have I spoken unto you, while yet
abiding with you.

But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you. しかし、助け主、すなわち、父がわたしの名によってつかわされる聖霊は、あなたがたにすべてのことを教え、またわたしが話しておいたことを、ことごとく思い起させるであろう。
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. わたしは平安をあなたがたに残して行く。わたしの平安をあなたがたに与える。わたしが与えるのは、世が与えるようなものとは異なる。あなたがたは心を騒がせるな、またおじけるな。
You heard how I said to you, I go away, and I come unto you. If ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced, because I go unto the Father: for the Father is greater than I.
『わたしは去って行くが、またあなたがたのところに帰って来る』と、わたしが言ったのを、あなたがたは聞いている。もしわたしを愛しているなら、わたしが父のもとに行くのを喜んでくれるであろう。父がわたしより大きいかたであるからである。
And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe. 今わたしは、そのことが起らない先にあなたがたに語った。それは、事が起った時にあなたがたが信じるためである。
I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world cometh: and he hath nothing in me; わたしはもはや、あなたがたに、多くを語るまい。この世の君が来るからである。だが、彼はわたしに対して、なんの力もない。
but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. しかし、わたしが父を愛していることを世が知るように、わたしは父がお命じになったとおりのことを行うのである。立て。さあ、ここから出かけて行こう。
