Hallo Talk という言語学習者同士が助け合うアプリを使っています。
最近はそこで日々の出来事をつぶやいてるのですが、ひとつ気がついたことがあります。
とっても当たり前のことなのですが、
ひとつの文章に色々な正解があるということ。
もちろん、文法的な誤りはありますし、
文法的には間違っていなくても自然でない表現などもあるかと思います。
でも、このアプリを使っていると、色々な表現があるんだなと気づかされます。
それはこのアプリの良さのひとつだと思うのですが、
様々な国で暮らす人がそれぞれのナチュラルな言い方を教えてくれます。
私の書いた文章が訂正する人によって異なった文章になっています。
よく日本の英語教育はテストに集中しすぎていて実践に弱いと指摘されていますが、
このアプリを使うことで、試験勉強じゃない多様さが認められる言語学習の面白さに改めて気づかされたんです。
伝わればいい、と思うと新しい表現や、より自然な表現などを学ぶ意欲がそがれてしまうかもしれないけれど、
つい正解を求めてしまう私のような試験英語タイプの人には、
このアプリを使った語学学習によって得られるものが多いと思います。
