今回の母との京都旅行ではこれまで行ってみたいと思っていたお店にもたくさん行きました。
たくさんの雑誌などにも取り上げられ、私も何年前かのku-nel という雑誌の京都特集で目にしてから憧れだったのがこの甘味処「栖園」さんです。
私が行ったのは6月末で、お店の前にかかっている有名な大きな暖簾の柄は、あやめでしょうか、それとも菖蒲でしょうか。。
旅行中の恒例ですが、食べに行きたいところが多すぎて、3食の間もすきをみて食べようとするありさまです。お腹をすかせるために歩きまわってるともいえますよね。
とっても人気があるのが名物の「琥珀流し」という寒天のデザートです。
月替わりで変わるシロップは今回は梅酒で、私は梅をつかったお菓子が大好物なので6月にいってよかったと思います。あと興味があるのは7月のペパーミント味です。
せっかくの京菓子屋さんなので小豆もさぞ美味しかろうということで、冷やしぜんざいもお願いしたのですが・・・
こんなに美味しいぜんざいは本当に初めてです！
大きな小豆がふっくらしていて、豆の味もしっかりするけれど、一品としての調和もとれていて、表現できません！
琥珀流しの見た目の涼しさやくずのほろっとくずれる感じも捨てがたいのだけれど、私は断然ぜんざい派になりました。
