Since 1993, Professor Kazuto Kamuro, a quantum physicist and neuroscientist at the Artificial Evolution Research Institute (AERI: Pasadena, California, HP: https://www.aeri-japan.com/), has been researching the application of the inner consciousness lurking in the human brain, known as the "subconscious mind," to the AERI brain implant and consciousness-driven cognitive type biocomputer. He suggests that humans can imagine auditory and visual sensations during reading, delving into the hidden consciousness within the human brain.


a. It is said that "counting sheep in your head is good for sleepless nights." Many people actually imagine sheep and count them one by one from right to left. For most people, this act of "imagining scenes in their heads" is quite ordinary. However, there are some who suffer from a condition called "Aphantasia," where they cannot produce images in their minds. Aphantasia refers to the inability to generate imagination or visual images when closing the mind's eye. In other words, it is a state where the ability for visual imagery is either absent or significantly reduced. For example, when trying to imagine an apple, characteristics such as its color, shape, or texture cannot be reproduced in the brain, or are very vague. Anhedonia, on the other hand, is a term in psychiatry and psychology referring to the inability to experience pleasure or joy. It is considered a symptom of mental disorders such as depression or schizophrenia. Anhedonia and Aphantasia are not synonymous as they have different meanings and symptoms.

b. There is a correlation between Aphantasia and the subconscious mind in terms of processes such as visual imagery, cognitive processes, and psychological functions. Specifically, because Aphantasia is related to the ability for visual imagery, there may be an indirect association with the visual imagery process in the subconscious mind. Additionally, there are suggestions that Aphantasia correlates with other cognitive processes and psychological functions. For example, individuals with Aphantasia may excel in non-visual information processing. Therefore, while there is a correlation between Aphantasia and the subconscious mind, further research is needed to determine whether it is a direct causal relationship or if other factors are involved.

c. Anhedonia refers to the state where one cannot feel joy or pleasure. Individuals with Anhedonia do not mean that they are blind and deaf; rather, it indicates difficulty in experiencing emotional pleasure or enjoyment. In other words, they may find it challenging or impossible to derive pleasure or satisfaction from things. It is not entirely accurate for individuals with Anhedonia to describe themselves as "blind-hearted with no taste," as Anhedonia pertains to the realm of emotions and lacks direct association with vision or taste. However, individuals experiencing difficulty in feeling pleasure may perceive a diminished emotional response to various experiences in life.

d. Professor Kazuto Kamuro is researching the application of Aphantasia to the AERI brain implant and consciousness-driven cognitive type biocomputer, which is a non-visual information processing of the subconscious mind possessed by individuals capable of imagining auditory or visual sensations and hearing inner voices while reading.

e. Humans experience inner voices emitted by the subconscious mind when they think. You might only speak one language (e.g., English or Japanese), so your inner voice would "speak" that language. The AERI brain implant and consciousness-driven type cognitive biocomputer understands the ability to speak different languages. Therefore, you might imagine what it's like to hear your inner voice speaking multiple different languages. and (4) Large-scale computer companies including IBM, Intel, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Fujitsu, D-Wave Systems, Rigetti Computing, IonQ, Alibaba Quantum Laboratory, and others,

have seen a surge of sudden researchers flocking towards quantum computers, which differ from conventional general-purpose computers in their ability to solve specific problems rapidly. However, quantum computers, like conventional computers, are programmable and can be used for multiple problems. Quantum computers are distinctive in their ability to provide fast and efficient solutions to specific problems using quantum algorithms.

·         Quantum computers, can be considered as specialized problem-specific processors, possessing computational capabilities specialized for specific tasks. Like dedicated problem-specific processors, quantum computers are optimized for specific applications and algorithms, executing computations related to those tasks rapidly. While quantum computers and dedicated problem-specific processors take different approaches, they share the commonality of being able to perform fast and efficient calculations for specific tasks.

·         Previous fifth-generation computers have mainly aimed at solving advanced cognitive tasks utilizing technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. In contrast, quantum computers can solve specific problems rapidly using the principles of quantum mechanics. Thus, while they employ different technological approaches, they coincide in efficiently solving specific problems. Quantum computers, like traditional fifth-generation computers, can compute specific problems quickly, but they utilize different technological methods for realization. Therefore, although they employ different approaches, they share similar goals. Thus, quantum computers can be considered as fifth-generation computers capable of computing specific problems quickly, albeit through different approaches.

i. Individuals with Aphantasia may feel frustrated and irritated when others attempt to explain their experiences. One suggestion is that while we may have imagined visual experiences, we cannot describe them. Moreover, since we know what it is like to have imagined sensations, we can recognize the absence of certain types of imagined experiences.


j. Researchers in AERI's neuroscience believe that Aphantasia occurs when activity in the front of the brain fails to excite activity in the regions toward the back of the brain. They have also discovered that for individuals to have imagined experiences, feedback that excites activity in the regions toward the back of the brain is necessary. Additionally, researchers in AERI's neuroscience have found that when the aforementioned feedback fails within the brain, atypical experiences of actual visual input can occur. They have discovered the existence of subjects suffering from severe Aphantasia, who not only lack imagined sensory experiences but also have atypical experiences of actual visual input.

k. Professor Kazuto Kamuro reports, "There is a possibility that some Aphantasics may experience abnormal experiences due to actual visual input. If we could identify these subjects and study their brains, we could investigate why some individuals can freely evoke imagined sensory experiences while others cannot.
