"Imagine" by John Lennon ー ジョンレノンのイマジン和訳

こんにちは、Katyです。

今月のSinging Nightイベントで使う曲はジョン・レノンの「イマジン」に決定しました。

この曲は歌い易いだけでなく、歌詞も中学校の教科書に載ったくらいわかり易い英語です。

たくさんの人が和訳してネットに公開していますが、私も訳してみました。

今朝トランプ大統領が一般教書演説を行いましたね。

その直後にはもう、ライブで作成されたとみられる書き起こしがネットに出ていました。

それに照らし合わせて実際の演説をYouTubeで見ていたら、ところどころ間違いがあったので、興味半分チェックしてみました。

1月25日の金曜日に「スｲンギングナイト」と言うイベントをやりました。

We held an event called "Singing Night" on Friday, January 25th.

これは毎月１回ポピュラーな洋楽を１曲選び、歌詞の意味を理解し、発音を練習して楽しく歌うイベントです.

We hold this event once a month; we select a popular English song each time and learn the lyrics and practice pronunciation.

1月はカーペンターズの「トップオブザワールド」をやりました。

We chose "Top of the World" by Carpenters for the January event.

カーペンターズの曲は理解しやすく歌い易いものが多いですね。

A lot of songs by Carpenters are easy to sing and understand.
