ちょっと涼しくなったかと思ったらフェイントで、酷暑はまだしっかり居座っているじゃありませんか。
もう、本当にうんざりですよね。
でも、日本の家屋はエアコンがちゃんと入っているからまだいいですよ。
オランダに数日行って帰ってきた生徒さんが、向こうも猛暑だったのに、ホテルはもちろん、どこもエアコンがないので恐ろしい暑さだったとおっしゃってました。
本当に地球は大丈夫ですかね？
さて、今日は自分の部屋の模様替えに取り掛かりました。
まず確保したのは、ワインを飲みながら塗り絵ができるコーナー。
こんな感じ。
実を言うと、普段は私が模様替えとかし始めると、ブライアンがすぐ参加してくるのです。
アメリカ人のフロンティア精神からきているのか、力仕事とか、大工仕事とか、そう言うことを一切、女性にさせないんですよね。
だって、車のドアも開けてくれますからね。
でも、私もさすが、自分の部屋くらいは自分で好きにしたいのに、と少し不満でした。
で、今は彼の腰がヤバイ状態なので、私は家具の移動から何から自分で好き放題にやっています。
でも、あまりに自分で何もかもやってしまうと、ブライアンが自分の存在価値を感じられなくなり落ち込むかもしれない、と思い。。。
たまたま玄関から迷い込んできたちっちゃなゴキブリさんがいたので、
キャー！みたいな感じで助けを求め、退治してもらいました。

I thought it was getting cooler, but I was wrong. The hot weather hasn't gone anywhere.
I am really sick of it, how about you?
Luckily, most Japanese houses have good air conditioning, so it's not so bad.
One of my students who came back to Japan after several days in the Netherlands told me that it was terrible there because they didn't have air conditioners in the hotels or almost anywhere, even though it was as hot there as here in Japan.
Crazy hot weather everywhere. I wonder if the earth really OK...
Well anyway, today I started rearranging and organizing my room.
First I made a small area where I can enjoy my coloring while drinking wine.
Like in the picture.
To tell the truth, Brian always intervene as soon as I start to rearrange furniture.
That's because he is an American, and he does not let a woman do any heavy lifting or moving things.
You know, they are taught to open the door for ladies or things like that, right?
It's really nice, but I kind of wanted to do things by myself in the way I like, especially in my room.
Now he has a back problem, so I am able to do everything by myself the way I like.
However, I was also worried that if I do everything without his help, he might feel that I don't need him at all.
So, today there was a small cockroach that happened to get into our house from the entrance.
I asked Brian to take care of that unwanted visitor, and he successfully eliminated it.
