"Is this the book every feminist has been waiting for? Probably not. But it is a good one. This book is for rad little baddies who want to practice their handwriting and learn about feminism. It is not your everyday handwriting practice book, however.First, we start off with some handwriting practice by copying empowering affirmations. What we think and say to ourselves holds a lot of power. If our young feminists are practicing their handwriting skills with phrases like, "I am worthy", they have a way to build healthy self-confidence and we will have even more powerful feminists to celebrate in the future. Then, we move onto the journaling portion. Each section features a feminist with some information about what they have done or what they stand for. On the accompanying page is a journal prompt and some space for the young feminist to express their ideas. The young feminists are encouraged to express their thoughts through a variety of media. They may choose to answer the journal prompt in writing and continue to hone their handwriting skills. Or they may make a video, draw a picture, write a song, or cast a play with their friends and siblings. Using the book in this manner might require more guidance, but it makes the topics and concepts accessible to children of all ages and learning styles. This book is intended for people of all races, genders, sexualities, nationalities, religions, abilities, and identities. The purpose is to celebrate diversity as we teach the next generation about feminism.
