War sucks, but we fight.

It's human nature.

What will be provided upon victory? A sense of national pride. It provides you bragging rights and entitles you to write that part of the history.

And to the loser?

The very direct realization that it sucks to lose.

We can talk about ideology, fighting for humanitarian causes, etc.

The bottom line, in war is: Might makes right.

We come up with ways to glorify and justify the cause. In reality, it's "WHATEVER IT TAKES". No one can spell H-A-G-U-E during war. We always defend the actions with carefully "chosen" historical "facts".

As long as the "good vs. evil" format stands, there will always be war.

Often the so-called "national interests" are not pure nor genuine. However, folks serving in the military services dedicate their lives for the well-being of their families.

Those who claim that they don't like war, often don't see the hidden implications behind words such as "either you're with us or against us". If you believe in these words, then YOU LIKE WAR. Yeah, think about it.

Ret. Major General Smedley Darlington Butler(1881-1940) was the most decorated Marine in U.S. history. Read this quote.

"I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism"

He was saying this in 1930's. I mean, these are dangerous words "against the national interests". Character assassination and questioning of the credibitity behind his words can be done easily by carefully choosing "historical facts" and putting them together.

But he said it anyway. Look at 2012. Same problems.

War sucks, but we fight

I would like to take a few moments to send my thoughts to those, regardless of nationality or religion, who have lost their lives in this war.
