A former bodyguard to Michael Jackson has dropped his High Court libel action against Channel 4. Martial arts expert Matthew Fiddes had sued over a 2008 broadcast - The Jacksons Are Coming - watched by 1.88 million viewers.

Mr Fiddes, who acted as the local guide for the production, had alleged the documentary, which followed members chanel replica of Michael Jackson's family as they planned a move to North Devon, was "faked".

But, reading from an agreed statement at what had been due to be the start of a trial, Adrienne Page QC said her client now publicly acknowledged the programme was not "faked".
