Beijing Immersion Programme: Day 1
Time: 10.35pm
Date: 10/10/12
Day: Wednesday
The day finally arrived, and it probably came a little too soon. As always, I was still packing at the very last minute. Guess it was because a few hours before that, I actually went over to my friend’s for a game of tennis. What was I thinking! And I paid the price as I found out during dinner time that I have forgotten to bring my iPod. It was sitting sadly on my brother’s docking system. What is life without music? Yes it was a total disaster. Thankfully, my brother was willing to lend me his iPod for 3 months. That was when I realized how bad of a brother I have been, not having always shown enough appreciation for the things he has done for me. When I return, I promise all of that will change.
So to round off my last day in Singapore in the year 2012, my family, together with my grandmother, had dinner at our favorite local restaurant (jin long). We had kang kong, paigu, beancurd, asam fish and salted egg crabs. All of which are dishes I now crave, but will never get to taste again till 2013. Feeling a little bit of remorse now.
Soon after dinner, we found ourselves at the airport. A part of the hat I bought at the F1 actually came off and that kind of upset me for a while. But that all changed when my best friends and lovely classmates came to the scene. Samantha with her polaroid camera gave me a photo that would last a life time. Looking at them now just makes me miss them more. I felt bad that wasn’t able to spend more time with them. Hope Friday arrives real soon so I can finally have a chance to see their faces again through oovoo. On the other hand, my awesome classmates were there to send Nic and I off. Seeing Hidayah and Estel there was a real surprise for me. Looking at Hidayah telling me not to pick up bad habits just reminds me of a motherly figure. Hahaha she’s a really funny and caring person. Leaving all these wonderful people for China was a pretty emotional moment for me. I will miss them dearly!
