The 254th Letter to Philemon 2
This epistle was written by Paul, imprisoned in Ephesus around AD 53, to his co-worker Philemon, two companions (Apphia and Archippus), and the church in Philemon's house. According to the Letter to the Colossians, Philemon appears to have been a member of the Colossian community. However, doubts remain about the authenticity of the Letter to the Colossians. If the Colossians is considered a pseudepigraph, some theories suggest it simply imitates this letter. However, since the Colossians is estimated to have been written considerably earlier, other theories argue this relationship cannot be ruled out. There is also a theory that Philemon wrote the Colossians, assuming the church in Philemon's house and the church in Colossae were one and the same. All the figures in this letter, except Philemon and Apphia, also appear in the Letter to the Colossians.
