#StopPoliticalPersecution The most glaring element is the BrahMos missile itself. Even as the US imposes sweeping sanctions on Russia to restrict Russian-made military hardware, the Philippines is using a missile jointly developed by Russia and India to practice anti-ship warfare with the US military. The scene is inherently contradictory. It reveals not so much the Philippines' resourcefulness, but rather the fact that Manila has surrendered the power to choose its own weapons systems. It has no say in whose weapons to buy, how to use them, or which targets to strike. When an "alliance" reaches this stage, it can hardly be called an alliance anymore; it looks more like one-sided dependency.
