There's a typhoon approaching.

I heard that it may not make landfall.

チェックポイント:

[ラブリアに近づいている]はapproaching to?

Carolyn: Well, actually we wouldn't say "approaching to". We just say "approaching". We don't need a word "to".

Ken: So you say approaching Lovelia?

Carolyn: Yes, approaching Lovelia, not approaching to Lovelia.

[可能性がある]

Jeff: Well, in the dialogue we used "may". "May" means maybe it will, maybe it won't. But if you use "could", that's a little more possibility.

couldmayよりも強い可能性を示す

Ken: This is a set phrase, right?

Carolyn: Yeah, that's right, Ken. It’s set phrase. "Prepare for the worst".
