雨だし寒そう。吐く息が白くなってますね。
少々無理ある環境で歌うこの感じ、ザ・ベストテンみたいで懐かしい
ヒラリー クリントンが映ってたのが気にならなくもないですが。。
BON JOVIもベルリンの壁を訪れてたのですね。
”BON JOVI”と書かれた壁の一部は、どこかで保管されているのだろうか。。かなりレアだけど
イギリスのタブロイド紙 The Daily Mail（2009年10月23日号）に掲載された jon のコメントによると、この曲は
”about working people picking
themselves up by their bootstraps in
hard times."
「困難の中にいて、自力で自らを奮い立たせる労働者を歌っている」
のだそうです。
アルバムTHE CIRCLEがリリースされたのが2009年。
ちょうどこの頃といえば リーマンショックで、アメリカだけにとどまらず世界規模の経済危機に陥った時期。。多くの失業者を出すこととなってしまったのは、まだ記憶に新しいのではないでしょうか。
CDカバーのせいもあってなのか、このアルバムから感じる”暗さ”は、そんな時代背景の影響でもあるのかなぁと思いました。

サビの歌詞がめちゃくちゃカッコいいなぁ
思春期の中学生じゃないけど、ストレートに心に刺さりました
a bitter pill to swallow
直訳で「飲み込み難い 苦い丸薬」ですが、
「耐えなければならない嫌なもの」という意味だそうです。なるほどイメージ伝わりますね。
この曲、This House Is Not for Saleツアーのセットリストにも入ってるようですね✨
3月8日のロサンゼルスでのライブでは、その日がちょうど International Women's Dayだったとかでjonは「世界中の女性に捧げる」と言って、この曲を歌ったそうです
知らなかった。。捧げられてたのに
ツアーのセットリストについて、今年1月に
Facebookでファンの質問に答えてるかたちで jon の口から飛び出したのが、
Dry County や Right Side of Wrong、
Hey God、Something to Believe in などなど…どれもお気に入りの曲だったので楽しみにしてたのにな。。
沢山ある曲の中からセットリスト考えるのは大変でしょうね。。
