生命の躍動のごとく滔滔と流れる川のように、9条ピースウォークは広島（2月24日）から
奈良（3月21日）へと（岡山、兵庫、大阪を通って）すすんできました。
最近では、割と人口の多い地域で40～50人の参加者があり、週末には100人までふくれあがる
こともありました。大阪のパレードは平日でしたが、約380人集まってくれました。
このウォークに参加する人は、その参加期間に関わらず、9条への思い入れがとりわけ深い
ことは確かです。年齢を問わず、堂々と目標を胸に歩きます。通し歩きの日本人は、20代から
72歳までいます。
毎朝のおつとめの時間には、日本国憲法前文、9条を日本語で、そして英語で朗読する人も
います。この9条は、苦悩に満ちた第二次世界大戦を経て、日本が経験し、そこで払った犠牲すべて
からうまれた、真実の宝、生命の宝なのです。そして、いま再び、世界において泥沼化する戦争や
環境破壊に対し、日本人が声をあげるときがきたのです。
日本人が平和憲法、9条をまもるために声をあげることで、9条は国境を越え、輝き出すでしょう。
私たちアメリカ人参加者は、そうした日本人を支えるために来ました。しかし同時に、私たちは、
この宝物に深い感銘を受け、希望の光をみています。
アメリカはどんどん落ち込んでいます。一方で、日本は目覚めつつあります。
ウォーカー、それぞれの方法でこのウォークにご協力くださっている方々、祈りと意思とが
日本人の尊き精神を強めてくださいますように、
お一人ひとりのために、そして、世界の人々のために。

Like a river flowing with a great life-force, the Article 9 peace walk
has made its way from Hiroshima City on February 24 to Nara City today March 21.
The walk has grown as it has moved through Hiroshima prefecture, Okayama, Hyogo,
Osaka and Nara Prefectures. Recently, in the more populated areas 40-50 people
walk each day, sometimes growing to nearly 100 over the course of the day
on weekends. The peace parede in Osaka was held on a weekday and approximately
380 people joined.
It is clear that the japanese people who join this walk, whether for a day
or for the whole course have a tremendous spirit of commitment to Article 9.
Japanese people walk with dignity and energitic purpose, whatever their age.
The japanese through-walkers range in age from 20 years old to 72 years old.
Every morning as part of the morning prayer, we read the Preamble to
the Japanese Constitution in japanese and in English. We also had Article 9 in
both languages. Coming out of the immense anguished of World War Ⅱ, and
specifically all that Japan has experienced and suffered, such a spiritual
treasure of truth and life arose! Now, it is being brought forward again for
the japanese people to reclaim, at this hour when the world is engulfed in
terrible war and environmental deatruction.
As the japanese people reclaim Article 9 and the whole peace Constitution
it with automatically start to shine beyond this country. Those of us who are
Americans have come to support japanese people's recommitment to Article 9;
but we are finding ourselves so greatly inspired to feel the light from this
treasure.
Our country is sinking; Japan is reawaking.
May the steps of all who walk and all who support and join in so many ways,
and all the collections prayers and intentions accumulate to nurture the great
soul of the people of Japan, for their own sake and for the sake of all the people
in the world.
