I was on leave from April 2023 to December 2024 due to depression.

During that time, I learned a lot about what truly helped me —
and what actually didn’t.

I’ve summarized them below.
I hope they can be helpful for anyone going through something similar.


◎ Things That Helped Me ◎

  • Continuing to exercise regularly

  • Keeping a daily journal

  • Getting out of bed when I truly couldn’t sleep

  • Going back to my parents’ home to rest

  • Waking up at the same time every day (including weekends)

  • Continuing to support my favorite idols (“oshi”)

  • Attending a return-to-work (rework) program

  • Trusting my psychiatrist and taking my medication as prescribed

  • Forcing myself to go for walks in the heat

  • Checking work emails
