FLASH POINTの所属アーティストのJEFF PFEIFERとROB PFEIFER兄弟の、お兄ちゃんJEFFが再婚することになりました。
15年前に、エンジニアの紹介で初めて会った兄弟は、作詞・作曲・編曲、弟のROBはエンジニアでもあり、素晴らしい才能の持ち主達でした。
一緒にやったNINTENDOのゲーム音楽（ファミ通でゲーム音楽史上最高と評された）で、70曲に及ぶクラシカル音楽を作った後、映画音楽に興味を持ち始めた彼らは、今ではハリウッドで押しも押されぬ予告編音楽の超売れっ子になっています。
7月の終わりに婚約パーティーがあり、招待状が届きましたが、残念ながら仕事の関係と、その時期のAIR FAREがあまりに高いので、「ゴメン。仕事で行きたくても行けない。結婚式には必ず出席します。おめでとう！しかし、今や日本の音楽業界も景気が悪いのです。結婚式の日取りはもう少し飛行機代の安い時期にやってね」と冗談まじりのmailを送り、出席を断念してしまったのです。
そしたら以下のようなmailが届きました。
Hi Flash:
Alexandra & Jeff: We are getting married next May.
Anyway, In American weddings we have "Wedding Parties" which are the group of friends who stand next to the bride & groom during the
wedding ceremony (maybe it's the same in Japan?). I would be honored
if you would participate in the wedding party and stand w/ me during
the wedding. In fact, the most honorable position is "Best Man".
Would you consider being my "Best Man" in the wedding? It would mean
the world to me. You symbolize so much of my life... you know and
understand my past and my present... you influenced my music and my
career... I have always felt your support and encouragement.
If you agree to be my Best Man then I must insist that I will pay for
your plane ticket to Los Angeles and your hotel, etc. Please say "yes".
We have so much time to plan since the wedding is not until May...

なんとデリケートな心の持ち主なんだろうと、おもわず涙があふれそうになりました。
（やっと題名にたどりついた）
何故なら「武士は食わねど高楊枝」とか、「謙遜の美徳」とか、日本人魂のほとんどを教え込んであるし（笑）、僕が絶対にそんなほどこしを受けないのを知っているので、BEST MAN（仲人のようなもの）役を頼めば、飛行機代やHOTEL代を受け取る理由になるだろうという、優しい気持ちが伝わってくるからなんです。
そんな優しいJEFFの嬉しそうな写真を見てやってください。
すでに出席メンバーの中にBEST MANとして僕の名前がEvent Detailsに乗っています。名誉なことなので頑張ってお務めします。
