灑水観音
灑水とは香水をそそいで清めることをいい、加持香水ともいうそうです。
悪病が流行したとき、観音様を祀り、楊枝と灑水を供えると病が鎮まりました。
観音さまの名を唱えれば、水難からも救われるとされています。

When a bad disease broke out, people worshipped the Kannon and offered toothpicks and kwausui (clear water) to calm the illness.
Chanting the name of Kannon is said to save people from water-related disasters.
