合掌観音
三十三観音のうちの29番目にあたる合掌観音を描いています。
無念無想に合掌する最高の境地を示しています。
観音経に「婆羅門の身をもって得度すべきものには、すなわち婆羅門の身を現じて、ために法を説く」とあります。
私達が仏様を拝むまえに、仏様が先に私達の心のめざめが速やかであれ、と拝んでくださる教えだそうです。
まさに今が描くタイミングだったんだろうなぁと思えるような有り難い観音様です。
This painting depicts the Gassho Kannon, the 29th of the 33 Avalokitesvara Bodhisattvas.
It represents the highest state of mindless, unmindful gassho.
The Kannon Sutra says, "For those who should attain enlightenment with the body of Brahman, in other words, manifest the body of Brahman, and preach the Dharma for them.
This is a teaching that the Buddha first asks us to have a speedy awakening of our mind before we worship the Buddha.
It is a very grateful Kannon that I think this must have been the right time for me to paint.
