South African parties are preparing for coalition talks as the African National Congress lost its outright majority (単独過半数) for the first time since the end of apartheid 30 years ago.

BBC’s Barbara Pretasha in Johannesburg says neither the second-placed Democratic Alliance nor the newly formed MK party led by the former president Jacob Zuma is considered an easy fit (楽な着心地の衣服) for the ANC:

On the central right, you have the Democratic Alliance.

It’s the second largest party with free market agenda, but it’s also seen as being a party for white minority.

And so for those reasons it would be difficult for the ANC to form a coalition with them although that is the preferred option of the business community for sure (きっと)

And then the other two biggest parties are Mr Zuma’s MK party and also the Economic Freedom Fighters are more toward the left and advocating economic policies like nationalization of banks and mines and so on which is the completely other direction.

It’s really an uncharted (未知の) landscape at the moment.
