Some people undergoing a lung transplant in Britain will also receive a skin patch graft from their donor in an attempt to spot organ rejections sooner.

More detail from our health reporter Mitchel Roberts: The trial will enrol (child in rowとしか聞こえなかった!) 152 patients in England undergoing a lung transplant.

Half of them will get the skin graft at the same time from their donor in a hope that it can provide vital and visible information about how their new internal organ is varying.

Skin reacts earlier than other organs and so a rash can be a sign that a big dose of anti-rejection drugs is needed to save the lung.

Blood test, lung samples and X rays can offer clues too. But the problem might be quite advanced by then.
