The Oscar winning lyricist Marilyn Bergman has died at the age of 93. 

 

Working with her husband Alan, she co-wrote some of the most popular films and TV songs of the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s and continued to ride well  into the new century. 

 

Our correspondence Dongkin Kennedy now looks back at her most famous songs: The windmills of your mind was a song that showcased intricate and poetic lyrics, became the hallmark of Marilyn Bergman. 

 

Originally written in French, she and her husband Alan provided the English lyrics, help them win the first Academy Award for the best original song. 

 

Together they put lyrics to melodies written by Michel Legrand, John Williams and this with Marbin,,,,  The way we were,,,,it earned the best second Academy Award.
