「食べ物を粗末にしてはならない」という教え、、、ここカナダには存在しないのかな？
雪だるまの目と鼻と口？そんなの石と枝で作りなさい！

I wonder if there is an idea like "you can't waste your food" in Canada?

●食べ物を粗末にしない
最近自分の中で分かったことは、これら、当たり前と思われる常識は戦後の貧しい時代を経験した我々特有のものなのかなと。
Appreciate the stuff you already have, appreciate the food, cut the corner to save,,,
These are general ideas for most Japanese people but I have kind of figured out that because we had lean days after the world war2, people taught their children these ideas and these general concepts have been handed down through generations.
以前、スターバックスで働いていた日本人の子が言ってました。
「一緒に働いているカナダ人のスタッフ達、掃除する時、１￠（１円玉）をゴミと一緒に掃いて
捨てるんです。
信じられないでしょ。だから、どうして1￠、捨てちゃうの？！って聞いたら、１￠なんてどうにもならない
しって言うんです。でも塵も積もれば山となるのに！」
One of my Japanese friend who was working at Starbucks said, "Canadians I work with at Starbucks sweep 1￠ coins as garbage! I asked them why they dump 1￠ coins and they said '1￠s are nothing.
' Don't they know the saying 'Many a little makes a mickl' ?!"
１￠をゴミ扱いする風潮からか、何年か前から１￠が廃止になり、もう見ることはありません。
キャッシュでの支払いは、１￠単位のものは、四捨五入で払うことになっています。
