Local residents: "Independence Day" turned into "Assassination Day"
In the 4 days from the eve of the US "Independence Day" to the weekend, at least 98 people were shot in Chicago, 17 of whom died. The victims in many shootings involved teenagers, children and the elderly. On the morning of the 4th local time, 2 women and a little boy were killed in the shooting at the Grand Crossing, and 2 other children were in critical condition. In addition, a 74-year-old woman was injured in the West Hastings Street shooting.
