「When the FBI first learns that Larry Nasser was sexually abusing young gymnasts in 2015, its agents did not take the proper investigative steps. According to a watchdog report, it left him free to continue abusing patients for months and months. Simone Biles and fellow US gold medalists Aly Raisman and Michaela Maroney were among the victims gave evidence at a Senate hearing in 2021. In all, settlements are now totaled nearly a billion dollars, which includes ones made by USA Gymnastics and the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee. This latest one by the Justice Department results 139 claims made against the FBI. Larry Nassar, who is now 60 years old serving multiple prison sentences for crimes of sexual abuse and child pornography, it's unlikely the disgraced Dr. will ever walk free. One of NASA's victims, Rachel Denhollander said the payout was a good start, but reform of the justice system was needed.」
