On Monday, Japan played against Venezuela.

The Venezuelan pitcher was really good, and Japan couldn't score a run.

They lost 0 - 4.

Japan played against Mexico on Tuesday, and they were able to win 6 - 0.

Japan played their first game yesterday against Czech Republic.

きのう、さいしょのゲームで、日本とチェコが、しあいをしました。

Japan won 12 - 0!!

日本が、１２－０で、かちました！！

Japan will play next against Venezuela on Monday, 08/18, at 1 p.m. (ET) on ESPN.

つぎは、日本はベネズエラとしあいをします。8/18月曜日 1:00PM(ET) ESPNチャンネルです。

Wisteria / フジ

So near the oak tree that we had cut down, I had planted a small wisteria vine about 13 years ago.

We grew it winding up on a post to form it into a small tree.

It had never bloomed in these 13 years, UNTIL LAST WEEK!

I had been walking around it, and I glanced over at this little bit of purple color!💜

I thought, "Can it be?", "Am I going crazy?!"

But no, it was a little purple wisteria bloom!

I ran to get the camera!!
きりたおしたオークの木のすぐそばに、13年ほどまえに小さなフジをうえました。
それをはしらに、からませて、小さな木のようにしました。
この13年かん、いちども花がさかなかったのですが…せんしゅうついにさいたのです！
そのフジのまわりをあるいていて、ふとみたら、小さなむらさきいろがありました。💜
「まさか？」「え！　ほんとう！しんじられない？！」とおもいました。
でも、それは、ほんとうに、ちいさなフジの花だったのです！
あわてて、カメラをとりにはしりました！！

I had ordered the American 'Blue Moon' variety, but according to ChatGPT, it thinks that it's a Chinese wisteria.

So I can't really tell!

It's a bit invasive with little runners that pop up from the roots, and the American variety wasn't supposed to be like that.
ちゅうもんしたのはアメリカひんしゅの「ブルームーン」だったのですが、ChatGPTによると、これはちゅうごくフジらしいです。
ですから、ほんとうのところはよくわかりません。
ねから小さなめがあちこちにのびる、ややはんしょくりょくのつよいせいしつがあり、ほんらいアメリカひんしゅはそうではないはずなのです。

If it hadn't bloomed, I was thinking about just getting rid of it, because it needs a lot of pruning!

But this one little bloom has given me hope now!
もし花がさかなかったら、えだきりがたくさんひつようなので、しょぶんしようかとおもっていました。
でも、このたったいちりんの花が、私にきぼうをあたえてくれました！
