テキサスに来ぬるも何かの縁なりと思ひてアラモ砦を見たきと思ひき。
そこに小さき教会の跡ありたり。
1716年、アメリカ大陸原住民へのキリスト教布教のゆゑに
スペインによりて建設されぬ。
1824年、メキシコ合衆国が成立。
1836年2月23日～3月6日、
メキシコ軍（約1600名）とテキサス分離独立派（約200名）との戦闘ありき。
分離独立派のおほよそ全員が戦死、生き残りぬる者も女子供と奴隷とを除きて銃殺されぬ。
ハリウッド映画では、アメリカ側に正義がありしかども、
実際にここに立つと必ずしもさにあらぬ歴史を肌にて知りたり。
