This isnt exactly the hottest news in town but certainly it still commands a good deal of public attention. It is the age of 3D TV and Computer.

I dont know how 3D visual technology is catching up in Malaysia, but here in Japan it is believed that year 2010 is the epoch of 3D application on TV and Computer. I dont have a TV so I dont know how true this is. However, I am positive that there is more shelf space for 3D TV and Computer now than just half a year ago.

All major TV makers have churned out their own 3D compatible TV sets.

There is Sony http://www.sony.jp/bravia/3d/intro/index.html

And there is Panasonic http://ad.impress.co/jp/special/panasonic1002

And of course there is Sharp and the like as well.

There are two types of 3D viewing technology, it seems. The biggest difference seems to be the 3D google that the users need to put on when wanting to view the content in 3D. One type simply filters the images on the screen while the other actively opens and shuts the lens on the google to create a better 3D effect. Which is better? hm... I dont know. All I can tell is that I l~~~~ove watching beach volleyball on 3D. Better than DOA.

When it comes to PC, the evolution is slower but it is definitely catching on. Most Japanese brands have the latest models with 3D compatibility, not to mention the few well known foreign makers like Lenovo and Asus. http://ascii.jp/elem/000/000/535/535440/index-5.htm

You can access the link above and see for yourself. Tell me if you need help with Japanese.

I personally dont know what good it is to watch TV with 3D (except the beach volleyball thing) but I can see that playing games with 3D might prove itself worthy. For example, it would be great if we can pull off a 3D flight simulator! That way we dont need to spend thousands of dollars to get a flyer's license.

Have a nice day!
