藍染めのうちわを紹介しま～す
。
Today,
I'd like to introduce you indigo dyed uchiwa!

こちらは、
丸亀をこよなく愛するtonbiさん
と
わたし、tiramisu
の
コラボ作品です
。
Tonbi-san is an artisan who makes uchiwa in his hometown, Marugame, Kagawa prefecture.
He and I made the uchiwa together.
表は
絞り模様をいれた
藍染めの生地。
わたし担当で
巻き上げ絞りの模様にしました。
I was in charge of the front part of uchiwa,
and it was made of fabric dyed with indigo
with shibori pattern.
裏と骨組みは、
丸亀をこよなく愛する
tonbiさんが、
仕上げてくださいました。
Tonbi-san made the back side and the bamboo part
with his skill.
その裏は、
麻入りの阿波和紙。
竹の部分は、
当たり前の事なんだけど、
丸かった竹が
フラットになってる！
手作業でカットしたり曲げたりしているのだから、
凄いです
。
The back side is made of Japanese washi paper with hemp,
He did such a great job on the bamboo part,
because original bamboo stalk is round and sturdy but
he cut and curved it to get the shape of
the uchiwa bone.
竹の色は
藍染めにしてあるものと、
素材を生かした色の2種あります。
どちらも、
いい感じ
There are two color, indigo dyed one and origial one,
and both are beautiful.
しなやかな竹のお陰で
使い心地もいいです
I feel comfortable to use it
because of the flexible bamboo bones.
