My name is tiramisu, and I'm into
indigo dyeing now.
今日は、12月11日、
昨日朝起きたときは2度しかなかったのに、
今朝は10度。
気温のアップダウンが、
まるで、ローラーコースターのよう！
It is December 11th today.
When I woke up yesterday, the temperature was only 2℃,
but today, it was 10 ℃.
Ｉｔ has been up and down like a roller coaster recently.
さて、
先週木曜日に、
藤野に行ってきました。
蛍絞り
最終日。
染めの日でした。
By the way,
last Thursday
I had a workshop on Hotaru shibori in Fujino.
It was the final day, so I dyed my fabric indigo blue.

先生の工房のある
ご自宅へ
。
静かな里山の中に、
ひっそりとありました。
甕は４つ。
徳島の藍師佐藤さんから購入して建てたものと
自身で種から作り上げたものとがありました。
We went to My instructor's house who has his own studio.
It was located in a quiet mountainous area.
In his studio there were four indigo vats.
One of them is made with composted indigo leaves
made by Mr. Sato in Tokashima.
Others are made by his own indigo plants.
講師の石井さんは、
一切妥協せず
本物志向で藍に向き合っています。
その姿は、
徳島でお世話になっている
本藍染矢野工場と同じです。
My instructor, Mr. Ishii doesn't give up producing authentic indigo dye,
and what he has been trying to do so is the same
what Hon Aizome Yano Kojo has been teaching me -how to dye.
面白いことに、
藍建ては佐藤さんから購入した蒅も、
自身でつくった蒅も同じ方法で
藍建てをしているのに、
色や香りが違うんです
。
でも、染め上がりはほとんど同じだそうです。
染め液の攪拌も体験させてもらいました。
こちらも
本藍染矢野工場の方法とは違う。
I was surprised to see the differece between
the indigo dye liquid made by Mr. Ishii and the other made by my teacher in Tokushima,
and it is a very unique experience.
The color and smell were different,
but
Mr. Ishii said that both dye colors are almost the same.
I also had a chance to mix indigo dye liquid with a stick of wood.
It always looked easy, but it was difficult.
染めた後の処理も、
灰汁を使って洗うといった方法を
石井さんは教えてくれました。
藍師の手によって、藍はいろいろな育ち方を
するんでしょうね。
石井さんの優しい人柄も
きっと影響しているのでしょうね。
There is another difference, which is the final step.
Mr. Ishii taught me to wash a dyed fabric with wood ash lye.
I learned that each dye producer has his own method,
and I think that indigo dye which was born by Mr. Ishii
has been getting lots of love and passion from him.
