It is much too demanding for the skaters and much too complicated for the fans to understand. We can only hope that in 2016, when a new leadership of the ISU will be elected, there will be a total review of the system to guarantee more transparency and fairness.
I am a great fan of Takahashi . He has been a fantastic skater and will remain in the history of skating, as many other Japanese skaters. As you know I was one the first officials who worked very closely with the Japanese Federation to develop figure skating in your country. I am happy and honored for this.
I understand that you all are sorry for Takahashi decision to stop competing. But, in my opinion, an atelete should withdraw when he still is at the top of his career to leave a great memory of his achievements. And perhaps the moment for Daisuke has arrived. We will all miss him.
