This is my project which is about racial discrimination against Black women for my African Women class at Cal State University of Northridge.
このブログは、今僕がカリフォルニア大学ノースリッジでアフリカ女性のクラスを取っていて、そのクラスの最後のプロジェクトのためです。
I know all Japanese are not familiar with this problem; however, I really would like you to be engaged.
日本の皆さんは、黒人に対しての人種差別に関して、あまり関心がないと思います。でも、このブログを通じで少しでも、人種別に関して興味を持ってもらいたいと思います。
In the final project of this class, I wrote about Condoleezza Rice who is the 66th United State’s Secretary of State.
僕は、このクラスの最後のプロジェクトに、コンドリーザ ライス 第６６代（国務長官）について調べました。
As I researched the background of Dr. Rice, I recognized that racial discrimination is a serious problem in the United States.
ライス元国務長官の生い立ちを調べていくにつれて、黒人に対しての人種差別はとても重大な問題だということに気付かされました。
Many black women are oppressed by the society and they are not respected as people.
多くの黒人女性は社会から圧力を受け、また、人として認められなかった。
In addition, it is difficult for black women to succeed in the federal government.
国家の下で成功するなど、黒人女性にはとても難しいことでした。
However, Dr.Rice earned her position in the federal government, and she proved that black women could accomplish the same things as any other race.
しかし、彼女はアメリカの政治社会の中で国務大臣としての自分の地位を確立し、そして、黒人女性でも、ほかの人種の人たちと同じようにさまざまのことを成し遂げる力があることを証明しました。
Her actions encourage younger generations of black women to persevere and believe that anything is possible.
このような彼女の行動は若い世代の黒人たちを勇気づけ、そして我慢すること、またできないことは何もないということを伝えた。
Even Japanese people and I have different cultures, but we should respect people no matter who they are.
僕たち日本人は黒人とは違う文化で暮らしているが、その人が誰であれ人として敬意を証すべきであると思う
We could learn a little thing from each person.
どんな人からでも、小さいことは学べる。
Through this project, I learned that I should not give up even though when I am in the tough situation.
このプロジェクトを通じで、どんなにしんどい状況に自分がいたとしても、彼女のようにあきらめてはいけないということを学んだ。
If I keep fighting, everything will go well.
物事に対して、自分があきらめていなければ、いつかはいい方向に行くと思う。
Researching this topic has taught me many life lessons and to appreciate life because many other people are suffering and going through hard times.
また、彼女を調べると同時に、生き方、自分の人生に感謝するということについて学んだような気がした。
なぜなら、黒人やほかの人種の人たちは、好きなこともできず、社会に苦しめられている人が多いからだ。
I really hope you become engaged with racial discrimination and what black women experience in their lives.
最後に、これを読んでくれた日本人の人には、もっと黒人の人たちの文化について関心を持ってもらい、彼らはどういう人生を送ってきたのかっていうのを少しでもわかっていただけたらと思います。
