Take me back to Tokyo
Neon lights were starting to glow in Ginza street.
American cars rolling slow to the beat.
You wore a kimono with a ribbon in your hair.
While the radio played Elvis in the cook night air
We walked between two world that did'nt quite meet
Old Japan and new dreams on the same busy street
The city was changing right before our eyes.
And we were young enough to believe in every surprise.
Take me back to Tokyo.
Take me back in time.
When the city was walking to a brand new shine.
Take me back to Tokyo
Where the old and new would meet.
Where we fell in love on those crowded neon streets.
Take me back to Tokyo
Where my heart still stays.
We danced to American song in a small jazz cafe
Then walked past temples as the morning turned to day.
You taught me how to bow.
I taught you how to swing.
We were learning how to love while the whole world was changing.
In Shinjuku and the Asakusa morning light,
we built our little world between the day and night.
Every corner had a story, every street had a song,
and we were writing ours as we walked along.
Take me back to Tokyo.
Take me back in time.
