This is what American University is like part 2!!

Fall semester😊

Unlike last semester, many teachers seems to be well prepared specific for the online class in this semester.

Honestley, there were still many confusing such as previous president Trump's declaration that all international students who did not enroll in-person class had to leave the US right before the semester began.

Chico state appearently ended up with virtual classes for this semester despite several pressure from nearby business and politics.

And the following classes are the class I signed up for this fall semester.

・Ag Machine System

・Academic Writing

・Socioecon-Food injustice

・Spanish 101

・World Food and Hunger Issues

Ag Machine System

I highly recomend this class for Ag major students!!!

We did not get enough chance to learn Ag achines themselves in Shinshu University, but if you can get chance to attend in person class in the future, you will see a lot of gigantic machine used in CA for massive farms!

For the class assignment, Im figuring out how those machines are working and if it was inperson I could actually operate them.

The professor is willing to give us knowledge as much as possible even through zoom class, so I could enjoy the class as if I was in the classroom 😊 He is also very flexible teacher so sometimes he lets students to take place in the class and share their own knowledge insted of his lecture!! I think this is very American style of lecture because I do not think Japanes teachers let student share their opinions or experience for 20 minutes lol

Academic Writing

This is almost same as the English class for international students from last semester. The professor is also same. Since this semester is online class, I cant talk to other students as much. For this class , I basically have to finish 2-3 big pappers associated with my interest throughout this semester. He tells me a lot of technique for academic writing which is also required for Japanes university later on. I recomend this class as well.

Socioecon-Food injustice

This class is asynchronous class which means there are no requierd zoom meeting throughout this semester. So all I have to do is doing assignments by myself. The professor provides us weekly assignment through BBL (it's like ACSU for Shinshu University.) This class is associated with food insecurity in the US, which actually worth learning since the world economic gap is getting wider these days even in Japan. So I read many articles aboout race inequarity, gender inequarity, and geographical inequarity associated with food aaccessibility. If you are interested in socio-economics, this class would satisfy your curiosity!

Spanish 101

This class is nnothing to do with my major lol but Im so interested in foreign languages so I signed up for this class!! And my core friends have origine form Mexico and their parents mainly speak Spanish, so I also wanted to talk to them in their native language. Unlike Japanese language class this class strongly focus on speaking and listning skills, so the professor never speaks in English but Spanish all the time 😱 At the first time, it blew my mind!!

World Food and Hunger Issues

This class is also asynchronous class. All I need to do is reading requierd textbook and doing the quiz once in a week. If you are motivated student you can gat chance to learn a lot of knowledge by serching by yourself, but if you are not (like me),,, I do not recommend this class to spend one unit instead of taking class you can actually interact with other students.

You may think same way but keeping motivate yourself is so hard in this online class. So if you come to the US (seems like next semester 2021 will be also virtual classes) next year, I suggest you to take synchronous class to keep motivate yourself!
