さて、新年一発目の曲はこの曲でいきましょう。超ビッグネーム2人の共演です。

この曲はBillboard誌で1983年12月から1984年1月にかけて5週間のNo.1を記録してました。PaulのAlbum「Pipes Of Peace」に入っていた楽曲で、Thrillerで絶好調だったMichaelとのデュエット曲だったこともあり大ヒットしました。Thrillerに入っている2人の別デュエット曲「Girl Is Mine」はこの「Say Say Say」のお返し、という話を聞いたことがあります
この曲、中三男子の耳に残りましたねぇ。絶賛大爆発中のMichael、元ビートルズのPaul、でもってとてもキャッチーで中坊にも口ずさめる楽曲という3本立てで、とにかく「スゲーっ！
」と思った、というより「感激
」したのをよく覚えてます。
PVもロードムービーよろしく、2人がペテン師っぽく、道化師っぽく街を回るもの。Paulの今は亡き元奥様のLindaや、Michaelのお姉さんのLa Toyaが出てきます。Paulがバンジョー弾きながらMichaelが踊るシーンはかなり印象的かも。Sonyのβのビデオテープに録画して、それこそ擦切れるほど何度も見ました
今からちょうど33年前のNo.1ヒット、まぁ、聴いてみてくださいな。

This song got 5 weeks No.1 on Billboard Magazine during Dec. of 1983 and Jan. of 1984. This song was cut from Paul’s album “Pipes Of Peace” and Paul sang with Michael. heard “Girl Is Mine” which was included in Michael’s album “Thriller” was in turn for this “Say Say Say”. This “Girl Is Mine” was also sung by Michael and Paul.
Yes!, this song was easy to understand for 15 years old boy. Michael in the big time and Paul of ex Beatles sang a good pop song. At that time, I remember I did not feel “It’s good”, I felt “It’s super!!!”.
Video was seem like a road movie. Paul and Michael acted as charlatans and clowns. Paul’s former wife, Linda and Michael’s big sister, La Toya was also in this video. I recorded this video to Sony Beta video tape and watched this video over and over.
