出産だけではなかったクーカニロコは使われ方
サイエンスをも把握していたのがハワイアン文化。
ハワイアン文化は宗教と勘違いされがちだが、実は
《生き方を解いたもの》。今日はそれを説明します。
Kukaniloko - "to anchor the cry from within"
バースストーン。。。出産中は妊婦にカプーが掛けられていたので、
妊婦は石に触ることは なかった。
The pregnant women could not touch the pohaku because Kapu was on her.
エミコ：入り口に並んでいる石は？
ジョーリン： １８個の石が両側に並んでいますよね。あそこにアリイたちがグレイトリーダーの出産の目撃者として座りました。その中の１人が父親でした。他の島からのアリイも集まったのですが、
当時のハワイアンたちは出産予定日を確信していたんですね。
E: What the meaning of the pohaku at the entrance.
J: The eighteen pohaku on the both side of road were place for Ali'is to sit and witness the great leader's birth. One of them was the father of the child. The Hawaiians knew exactly when the expecting date. So that Ali'i from other islands could come and watched the great event. These are represented by the 48 boulders on the west side of the 5 acre lot.
エミコ：産まれた後はへその緒をその場で切って岩の間に隠すという話しがインターネットででていましたが、本当ですか？
ジョーリン： いいえ、間違えです。赤子が産まれたやいなや、妊婦とともに１０分離れているHo‘olonopahu ホオロノパウ へイアウに運ばれ、そのヘイアウで（竹を尖らせたもので）へその緒が切られました。
４８人の高貴なアリイに見守られながら。そこで Hāwea and ‘Ōpuku の太鼓がならされ、周囲の一般の人たちにも出産が知らされました。
E: Some Japanese internet site said," The umbilical cord was cut in the moment baby was born and the piko was hided in the crack of pohaku. Is that true?
J: No, that wasn't right. She was right way carried to the heiau, Ho‘olonopahu. The heiau was ten minutes away from this place.
In that heiau, The drum Hāwea and ‘Ōpuku, were playing so that common people in the region could recognized their great leader's birth.
The piko was cut by the sharpened bamboo stick.
The 48 Highest Ali`i was watching the event.
クーカニロコ大学
_ The University of Kukaniloko-
エミコ：出産の予定がない時はこの場所は閉じられていたんですか？
ジョーリン：いいえ。ここは今でいう大学。アリイ候補の若本たちを教育する場所でもありました。
E: Only this place was open for the birth?
J: This place was used for not only the birth place but also giving education for future Ali'is.
エミコ：教えられていたことと言うと？
ジョーリン：アリイが習得しなければならない１３の教えの一つで航海技術を学ぶというのがあります。
J: Ali'i had to learned how to be a navigator. That was one of 13 Disciplines that they had to learn.
この椅子の様な形をしている石に座り、中央部にある高い石がカヌーの穂先と考える。
（水のペットボトルがおいてある後ろの方、、尖った石）
Look this pohaku. If you sit on the pohaku and use imagination that you are steering canoe in the vast of ocean. Then, look at the pohaku that is sticking out. That is the front of your canoe.
そして廻りは海と想像してみてください。そこに散らばる石が実際には太平洋に浮ぶ島々と想定する。
夜空に光る星座と照らし合わせて、舵取りの訓練をしたのです。
And those pohaku that are in front of you would be the islands that really exist. With the constellations in the night sky, you would know where to go.
例えばこのポハク（石）はオアフ島です。凹んでいるところがここ、クーカニロコです。
細長い石の前にある石は、地面に近いところを見るとボール型に掘られているのが確認できると思います。
その穴は以前上を向いていました。そこに水を入れ、星空をうつして、星座の勉強をしたのです。』
There is a bowl-shaped pohaku. The bowl-shaped curving that now touches to the ground was used to be a top. The Hawaiians put water in the bowl shaped curving and looked reflection of constellations to learn the shapes of constellations.
島のピコ（臍）クーカニローコはテクノロジーの集結
_ Kukaniloko is the piko of the island and has high technology-
エミコ：クーカニローコは島の真ん中だから島の臍にあると聞きましたが。
E: Kukaniloko is the center of the island, another way to say was the piko of the island. Is that right?
ジョーリン：そうなんです。あの山は( 西の方を指差し）ワイアナエ山脈Waiʻanae Range
J: Yes, it is. That is Waiʻanae Range, which is Wahine.( woman)
東をみるとコオラオ山脈Koʻolau Rangeがあります。
And that is Koʻolau Range which is Kane. ( man)
ワイアナエ山脈がワヒネ（女性）で、コオラウ山脈が（男性）に当たります。
大昔 はその二つの山を中心に二つに分かれていました。
それが年月を重ねて重なりあい、ここがちょうど中心になりました。
This island used to separated into two islands ; that is why two mountain ranges.
And then volcanoes erupted and caused the two islands to become one therefore the islands were united.
ダイアモンド型の石(POHAKU)の中心に描かれている渦巻きの様な形の中心が
ちょうど島のへその緒に当たるわけです。
近年、科学者が確認したところ、地理的にも確かにここが島の中心であることが確認できています。
This place was the uniting place for those two mountain ranges.
The center of the votex curving of diamond shaped pohaku is the exactly center of this island.
We invited scientist to find out the truth….. yes, he proved that scientifically this is the center of the island.
時計としても活用されたダイアモンド型の石
臍の緒のところに棒を立てると陰が出来る。
その陰の位置で時間を確認できる。
突起と突起の間を陰が移動する時間はちょうど２時間半。
