サーフ業界デジタル化された副作用は。。

昨日はホノルルのブレイズデルセンターで
恒例のビンテージ・サーフボード・オークションが行われた。
不況といわれながらも、大成功だった様。

Yesterday, The Vintage Surf Auction went on in Honolulu.
It was huge success, even though the economy has not done good in these days.

最高額がつけられたのは、写真のボード。
クラシックですよね。おもいっきり。

The highest bid was the one on the picture.
Isn't it classic?? Yes, very very classic!!

なんと価格は４万ドル。320万円くらい。

The price was $ 40.000.

昔の板は 確かに 魂こもっているってかんじ。

I can see that
a old surfboard is feels special
as if there is some kind of spiritual in it.

そこで思い出したのは、うちのダンナがジェフ・マッコイの会話。

Then, I remembered what the conversation went on
the other day between my husband and Jeff Mc Coy,
the veteran shaper.


「シェイパーの世界もカメラマンの世界も一緒だよな。
デジタル化でプロの価値ががた落ちした。
コンピューターで誰でも削れる時代になったから、
腕の良さなんか関係なくなってきてるんだよ。残念なことに。」

"It's the same thing has happen on
a shaper and a cameraman world. The value of professional
went down a lot. Because of computerize,
nowadays anybody can shape a board with a data."

ま、、、仕方ないね。それも世の常だもんね。
