Last year, we FINALLY visited the world-famous 宮島と厳島神社&姫路城.

We've been waiting and waiting and waiting until 2015, since starting in April 2010, Himeji Castle underwent restoration work to preserve the castle buildings, and reopened to the public on March 27, 2015.

And today, I would like to show humbly some pictures of 宮島と厳島神社 first.

Believe it or not, we families feel 宮島's tide change amazes us most.

Here comes our pictures :

Itsukushima Shrine was registered as a cultural heritage in 1996 for its location and the famous "floating" torii gate(鳥居). Firstly, the shrine was built on an isolated island, so we need to go there by ferry.

厳島神社に登録された文化遺産として1996年にその場所と有名な「フローティング」の鳥居のためでした。まず、神社の孤立した島の上に建てられていたので、我々はフェリーでそこに行く必要があります。

Secondly, because the ancient Japanese believed that the whole island is a shrine itself "naturally", they located the torii gate far from the island, and maybe due to global warming, the torii gate starts to slightly sink in the sea sometimes, so the authorities concerned "nicely" forecast a “tide table” for tourists to plan ahead for their visits.

第二に、古代日本人が信じていた全部の島神社自体は「自然に」、彼らは鳥居島から離れた位置に、そして、多分、地球温暖化によって、鳥居はわずかに海で時々シンクを開始するので、関係当局」「うまく予報」より前に彼らの訪問のために計画への観光客のための潮汐表」である。

For better experience the effect of the ebb tide(退潮) and flow tide(漲潮) in the same day, we visited the shrine on 19^th of November for convenience, ie arriving around 8:00 (Taiwan time) and leaving after 15:00. We were "a little" smart, right?
