Shishamo or Spirinchus lanceolatus (柳葉魚) or even called a " Willow Leaf Fish " is a saltwater fish (smelt) about 15 centimeters in length considered delicious and popular in Japan, it is grilled whole, often while full of eggs (ko-mochi-shishamo) and this time got it from " 北の漁場 ２ Kitano Ryoba 2 " here in Sapporo city 
sure was big and tasted good and next time wanna have it in Sapporo Hokkaido if I have a chance
